Hello and welcome to an exciting new venture: the very first episode of “Abbey the Podcast Lady” podcast. I’m Abbey Graves, your host, and I couldn’t be happier to have you join me today. If you’ve been nurturing a podcast idea that’s been languishing in your notes app for too long, or if you’ve already pressed record only to get derailed by the editing process, you’re in the perfect place.
My Podcasting Odyssey
Before we delve into the details of what you can expect from “Abbey the Podcast Lady,” let me share a bit about my own journey. With a decade of experience in radio broadcasting under my belt, I eventually launched my own podcast production business. Over the years, I’ve partnered with clients worldwide, from Australian cattle ranchers to Tennessee relationship therapists, and more. I’ve been the silent force helping them extend the reach of their voices through well-crafted podcasts.
Strangely enough, despite my love for the medium and my expertise, I don’t have my own podcast—an irony pointed out by my business coach who remarked, “You’re the podcast lady, but you don’t have a podcast.” It’s true. Like the cobbler’s children going without shoes, my personal brand was on the backburner. But now, it’s time to prioritize and share my knowledge with the world.
What You Can Expect from “Abbey the Podcast Lady”
This podcast is designed to demystify the podcasting world, making it accessible and achievable for you and your brand. The initial steps can feel overwhelming—equipment decisions, platform selections, and those intimidating editing tasks are just the start. However, every voice matters, and my mission is to eliminate the barriers that hold potential podcasters back.
Episode Highlights
Every month, the first episode serves as a case study breakdown. I’ll dissect a selected podcast, discussing its strengths and what resonates with listeners. We’ll also explore areas for improvement, proving that even top performers can enhance their content. This involves practical tips and insights, demonstrating how we can all learn from each other in this evolving landscape.
The second episode each month will serve as a practical guide—a tip, tool, or technique that can be directly applied to your podcasting efforts. Whether it’s choosing the right microphone or understanding social media promotion strategies, we’ll dig into the technical and strategic aspects of successful podcasting.
