So you pulled the trigger and you finally started a podcast. You recorded the intro, outro, picked theme music, made the cover art, and even put out the first couple of episodes on launch day.
Now you are sitting here refreshing the analytics page waiting for those downloads to roll in and your life to change.
Except it isn’t changing. And the only downloads are from you and your mom.
Just having a podcast in 2026 isn’t a game plan. It is an illusion of what you think success in the industry is. What really moves the needle and drives downloads is remixing your show into marketing for your brand or business.
Podcasting is just like anything else, you can’t expect it to just exist and magically solve all your problems.
You need to have consistent systems in place to get the word out about it and find an audience that cares enough to take action, whether that action is buying something you are selling, or just investing in you as a creator and thought leader.
Here are a few of the steps I like to take to help my clients share their podcast across platforms to find audiences and customers:
- turn the video potion of the episode into bite sizes clips and Reels to share on different social media platforms
- Pull out shareable/relatable quotes to make into static graphics that resonate with viewers and attract new ones
- Use the transcript from the audio to create blog posts to build SEO
- Create Pinterest graphics and post the pin that links back to the blog
- Summarize the transcript into an email for your email subscribers.
This seems like a lot of extra steps, especially if you are producing this podcast purely on your own. But if you carve out even an extra 20-30 minutes on your schedule to do these things it will help over time in a big way. Certain things can make this simpler, like making a template for graphics so you just have to swap out text, or using Ai to format your transcripts into blogs.
Just simply publishing a podcast is no longer enough to move the needle, but remixing it into more content that can consistently be shared to your audience definitely will. And as always, if you are looking for assistance with this process you can always reach out to AbbeyGravesProductions@gmail.com for help!
